possibly some flash flooding concerns as well. take a look at maryland's most powerful radar right now. you can already see big showers and storms, northern virginia, pounding places like cumberland maryland and moving towards frederick as we speak. flash flood watch up almost all central maryland, all of baltimore and dc area as well. a quick check of maryland's most powerful radar as we have it in motion here that is where the heaviest stuff is now. basically on a line from hagueers town down through winchester virginia, front loyal virginia and cull pepper, this will be moving steadily through dc and baltimore area through the evening. 80s. murky and humid now. another hour or so around baltimore but watching on the western side of town, expect showers and storms to arrive in the next few hours. much more about the outlook tonight. flood concerns how much things will change towards the weekend. all coming up rosie. >>> harper county authorities need your help catching a violent sex offender who seems to have struck again. the incident started in aberdeen and ended in forest hill

coast are in maryland today looking for new homes. oil disaster left people in the region without work. they have been forced to give up their pets. local animal shelters are at five times capacity. among the animals include three dogs dropped off at louisiana shelter by out of work fisherman. >> they are unseen victims of something like this. people can't care for them anymore. >> if you are interested in adopting any of the dogs they are going to three shelters in the region. >>> baltimore county agencies are getting ready for hurricane season now. today emergency managers took part in a multiagency response exercise to show hypothetical category two hurricane. in the past two years the county executive says the county responded quick all to the incidents from mother nature. that is no accident. >>> now at today's events smith presented executive citation to walmart for their partnership during the major watermain break in owens mills area. they donated 47,000 gallons of water to people during that incident. >>> weather wise today all quiet in maryland. different story in south texas

, maryland, pennsylvania, new jersey, do have a couple of showers and storms down into southern virginia, most of the active weather now is being held just south of us down into maim north carolina. big storms firing here all the way toward the charleston area. this is really a disturbance riding along that same frontal boundary that came through us sunday. triggering severe storms here. still keeping the hottest and most humid air bottled up south of us as an area of high pressure sits on top of baltimore, on top of maryland. normally we might expect clear skies above a high centered over us like this, but it's kind of a dirty high wrapping mid-level moisture in. as we look further south here you can see that the cloud cover spinning up, that is going to continue overnight into the day tomorrow. generally partly cloudy to mostly cloudy skies. and a chance for a pop-up shower or storm late in the afternoon tomorrow. even tomorrow evening, but the better chance will come with the passing of the next cold front. probably about thursday afternoon. not a ton of rain with this but there will

and the west. even western maryland getting some of the storms. we may see some of the broken storms arriving later on in the baltimore area, but very minimal chances. the frontal boundary is the culprit. as it slides in from the west, we may see a few storms here in baltimore. all right, the future temperatures. this is what we are talking about in the next couple of days. on sunday, yet another day where we are talking about very, very hot weather. here's the forecast for you tonight. we eventually, eventually fall into the 70s, but it's going to take all day to get there. tomorrow, back into the 90s. mid 90s, you talk about a classic july saturday. hot, humid and the chance for a hop up thunderstorm at least for tomorrow afternoon. tomorrow night, we will clear up as far as the skies with the temperatures in the low 70s. let's check out the five-day forcast for you. the slight chan of a pop up storm tomorrow, less than 20% and again on monday. there's a slim chance of a shower or storm, but i have to say that we have had a shift in the pattern that has really helped us out. we are going to
